PhD students at the Geospatial Summer School 2019
Our PhD students – Mgr. Katarína Rišová and Mgr. Ján Výbošťok – attended the third annual Geospatial Summer School at the Department of geoinformatics of the Palacký University in Olomouc from 24th till 30th June 2019. The main topic of the summer school was GIScience and urban environment.
The summer school included theoretical lectures as well as guided practical lessons led by experts in a variety of fields and from different institutions. These aimed to present various data sources and usages.
The experts of the summer school included Hugo Poelman from the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), Paul Longley and Balamurugan Soundararaj from the Department of Geography of the University College London, Jonathan Raper from London’s TransportAPI, Damiano Cerrone and Jesús López Baeza from the Finnish-Estonian SPIN (Spatial Intelligence) Unit, and Vít Voženílek and Jakub Koníček from the hosting department.
